Christmas and New Year’s Eve are holidays that are typically associated with having a good time with family and friends, for putting away petty differences and finding new things to celebrate about the people we love the most.

Unfortunately for some, it ends up being a bitter reminder of horrible tragedy, which it will likely be for Steven Kologi Jr. from this day forward.

Kologi’s brother brutally murdered both of his parents and his sister in their home on New Year’s Eve using a semi-automatic rifle.

As AFF previously reported:

A 16-year-old New Jersey boy gunned down his parents, sister and a family friend turning the family home into a bloodbath.

The teenager fatally shot his father, mother, sister and a family friend who also lived in the Long Branch, New Jersey home, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said in a statement. He was taken into custody without incident, Gramiccioni said.

Thankfully his brother and grandfather managed to escape the slaughter, authorities said Monday morning.

The gun was legally owned and registered to a family member, Gramiccioni said.

The NY Post recently shared a post from the shooter’s brother commenting on the incident:

Steven Kologi Jr., who survived the carnage inside his family’s Jersey Shore home, told Instagram followers he had “the greatest parents I could ask for.”

“Never once was I went without a hot meal or a roof over my head,” he wrote in a statement that was reposted by a Facebook user.

“They made sure Christmas came every year although they struggled financially. I cannot even describe the type of people they were so just believe me when I say how great they were.”

Steven Jr.’s autistic brother, identified by local media as Scott, has been accused of using a semi-automatic rifle to kill his parents, Steven and Linda Kologi, his 18-year-old sister, Brittany, and 70-year-old Mary Schultz, a family friend, authorities said.

“As for my sister she was so beautiful and smart,” Steven Jr. wrote. “I just wish I could tell all of them how much they meant to me and how much I truly loved each and every one of them because I didn’t do that enough.”

This is truly beyond tragic, and what’s worse is there have already been a few leftists attempting to politicize the pain of this man for their anti-gun agenda, once again forcing a conversation about the Second Amendment into play.

For leftists to claim to be “bleeding heart liberals,” they sure do lack love, concern, and empathy for the suffering of others, don’t they?

This gun was legally owned, by the way, so the problem would be more focused on why the weapon was not properly secured or why this kid had access to it.

Regardless, Kologi has lost his entire family and that’s an excruciating pain he will always feel for the rest of his life, as will his brother, whether he realizes that or not.

And that in and of itself is enough pain and misery, without news media and heartless left wingers on social media making the situation even more emotionally taxing.
