New wave of drugs are far more dangerous than people realize and quickly becoming an epidemic in the United States.

FDA Weaponizes ‘Opioid’ Label Against Kratom Consumers

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration released a statement on Tuesday afternoon from Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, MD, declaring that kratom, a southeast Asian herbal medicine, contains naturally-occurring plant alkaloid chemicals that are predicted by unpublished computer models to be opioids, FORBES reports.

In his statement, the FDA Commissioner goes on to discuss the concern with opioid addicts using kratom without consulting a health care provider due to the “dangerous potential side effects or interactions with other drugs.” Until there is research and clear evidence of any benefits of kratom, the FDA has “exercised jurisdiction over kratom as an unapproved drug, and has also taken action against kratom-containing dietary supplements.”

Synthetic “drugs” as well as “herbal” drugs can be purchased all over the United States and are sold in stores and gas stations all over, they are able to do so because they label them as, “Not for Human Consumption”.

People to be aware of what is actually being sold and can be sold to minors in gas stations and Vape stores, simply search on the internet, “synthetic drugs in gas stations” and you will be amazed at what is available.

As nations fight synthetic drugs and herbal narcotics, they have to break down the ingredients and then they have to pass laws making the specific molecules illegal.  The issue is that the creators of these simply go in and change the specific molecule slightly and then it is no longer an illegal product.

Only recently introduced into the United States, kratom use is a quickly growing new drug of choice being abused by opiate users.  This newly introduced drug has been used in Southeast Asian countries for centuries by manual laborers to help fight fatigue and increase productivity.

According to Web MD, Kratom is a tropical tree in Southeast Asia. Its leaves have been used for hundreds of years to relieve pain. They can be eaten raw, but more often they’re crushed and brewed as tea or turned into capsules, tablets, and liquids.

In low doses, kratom acts as a stimulant. In large amounts, it acts as a sedative, and the DEA says it can lead to psychotic symptoms and psychological addiction.

It is used in folk medicine as a stimulant (at low doses), sedative (at high doses), recreational drug, pain killer, medicine for diarrhea, and treatment for opiate addiction. Many people report that kratom is an effective treatment for arthritis, restless legs syndrome (RLS), and fibromyalgia.

Odyssey did an article on Kratom and its abuse in the United States, Opioid addicts reportedly use kratom to avoid the narcotic-like withdrawal side effects that are similar to that of opioid withdrawal side effects. Some of these side effects may include irritability, anxiety, craving, yawning, runny nose, stomach cramps, sweating, and diarrhea. What many people don’t understand is that kratom is also an addictive substance as well. While addicts are using this to help overcome their opioid addiction, they are setting themselves up for an addiction to another potentially dangerous substance, and will, then, need to detox from kratom in order to become completely clean from drugs.

The FDA released their report on Kratom:

Over the past several months, there have been many questions raised about the botanical substance known as kratom. Our concerns related to this product, and the actions we’ve taken, are rooted in sound science and are in the interest of protecting public health. However, we recognize that there is still much that is unknown about kratom, which is why we’ve taken some significant steps to advance the scientific understanding of this product and how it works in the body. Today, we’re providing details of some of the important scientific tools, data and research that have contributed to the FDA’s concerns about kratom’s potential for abuse, addiction, and serious health consequences; including death.
