NFL Owner Now BRIBING Thug Players To Stand For National Anthem

As ratings for the NFL continue to free fall into oblivion and owners of various NFL teams grapple with what is quickly becoming a public relations nightmare.

According to the Wall Street Journal, a number of owners abandoned the “league unity” message the NFL has been pushing for weeks and engaged in a brutal disagreement over whether teams should continue to allow players to kneel during the national anthem and continue to stoke the fires of a feud with President Donald Trump. Many owners are looking to tone down the protests and the perceived anti-American rhetoric.

Last Sunday, only a handful of players “took a knee” in protest while other teams looked for ways to protest injustice in ways that show unity without clashing during the National Anthem and without the continued disrespect to veterans, the flag, America, her citizens, or her way of life. The WSJ was also quick to point out that NFL officials were a lot less in your face and confrontational with President Trump in the face of overwhelming support from the majority of Americans.

Yet, it seems some players do not care about the disrespect many Americans feel about the timing of their protest. It’s not that we do not feel they have valid concerns, we just don’t think those concerns need to be voiced while dumping all over someone else’s sacrifice and way of life. It’s called mutual respect and earning the right to be heard.  Yet some players seem to believe their protest trumps all of that and are demanding to be heard much in the same vein as a toddler throwing a tantrum.

The narrative being pushed by the NFL currently is this the “take the knee” protests were a one-time thing, designed to make the point that the league wouldn’t stand for individual players being called out over their beliefs – a sign of “unity” if you will about free speech, not individual political agendas.  Sunday football – and Monday Night Football – ratings have tanked, stadiums are nearly empty, and many teams are issuing ticket refunds in record numbers. Even DirectTV, which carries the NFL Sunday Ticket program, has had to offer generous deals in an effort to keep subscribers happy.

Except that is not what players are saying…..I guess they didn’t get the memo?

The Tennessee Titans star player had a message for any outraged fans threatening to turn their back on the team after the Titans and Seahawks remained in the locker room during the national anthem before their game Sunday at Nissan Stadium. Tight End Delanie Walker stated – “Don’t come to the game.”

Walker states –

“First off, I’m going to say this: We’re not disrespecting the military, the men and women that serve in the Army. That’s not what it’s all about,” Titans tight end Delanie Walker said. “If you look at most of the guys in here – I’ve been in the USO. I support the troops. This is not about that. It’s about equal rights, and that’s all everyone is trying to show, is that we all care about each other.

And the fans that don’t want to come to the game? I mean, OK. Bye. I mean, if you feel that’s something, we’re disrespecting you, don’t come to the game. You don’t have to. No one’s telling you to come to the game. It’s your freedom of choice to do that.”

Detroit Lions owner, Martha Ford, is stooping to bribe players into standing for the National Anthem. Ford is attempting to cut deals with players to support their extracurricular activities and off-field causes in an effort to avoid on the field embarrassment during televised games.

Lions Running Back Ameer Abdullah stated to the  Detroit Free Press –

“We do dance around the topic a lot and Mrs. Ford has come forward and said that as long a we compromise as a team and unify and make a unified demonstration, she’ll back us financially so I’m definitely going to hold her to her word.”

Many are of the opinion that no American should have to be bribed to stand for the anthem and any who refuse should be FIRED! This is their job and the field is their office if you will. If an NFL player chooses to use their platform as a professional athlete to promote their areas of political or social concern then do so while not on the clock. If equality is indeed what they are after? Then practice what you preach and don’t denigrate other Americans and their way of life to promote your own. The Tennessee Titans, the Detroit Lions, and the NFL should be ashamed of themselves.
