Alabama’s senate race this year has been one for the ages, as Roy Moore, former judge and a man who isn’t afraid to stick to his guns and take on the establishment, has endured a huge scandal without backing down or caving in, a feat almost unheard of in modern politics.

Moore has been fighting against allegations of sexual harassment and assault for weeks now, but as more and more evidence emerges, the credibility of his accusers grows weaker and weaker, which is good news for him with the coming election only four days away.

He’s not the only one fighting controversy. Now his opponent Doug Jones is being dragged through the muck and mire after a racially charged campaign flyer began circulating in Alabama.

Fox News has more information:

A racially charged campaign flyer sent to black residents in Alabama’s Senate race is provoking a social media backlash for Democratic nominee Doug Jones, who is scrambling to mobilize black voters against Republican Roy Moore ahead of Tuesday’s election.

The flyer, which has been circulating on social media and reportedly came from the Jones campaign, shows a young black man with a skeptical look on his face.

“Think if a black man went after high school girls anyone would try to make him a senator?” it reads.

Multiple people who received it have posted photos of the flyer on Twitter, with some condemning it as out of touch and insensitive.

As you can imagine, this did not at all go over very well with the intended target audience.

A writer for TheRoots.Com, Michael Harriot, said “it has upset black voters across Alabama.”

He went on to say, “Someone, probably a white man, thought that the image would resonate with black people and motivate them to get out the vote.”

A user on Twitter received the ad in the mail and posted the following on social media:

One Twitter user who apparently received the mailer wrote: “I just got this in the mail. This is *NOT* how do outreach to Black voters! I don’t know who thought this was going to help, but this campaign has engaged Black voters despicably.”

So Mr. Jones created this advertisement as a means of basically slamming Moore and his supporters as not only being sexist , but also for being racist.

And he wonders why he doesn’t have any friends?

Jones is obviously feeling desperate if he was willing to hit below the belt like this. He was likely convinced the sexual assault allegations against Moore would be enough to bury him and end his campaign, but unfortunately for him, that wasn’t the case at all.

And with more evidence against Moore’s accusers coming out daily, it doesn’t look like this is going to stop the man before Tuesday.

Perhaps, if Jones is so concerned about the country and feels it’s so vital for him to win, he should do something truly radical, like, oh, maybe listen to constituents, see what issues really matter to them and impact their daily lives?

Wishful thinking, right?
