Owner Of ‘F—k Trump’ Truck ARRESTED For FELONY, Here’s The Details

The owner of the now-infamous truck displaying a “F—k Trump” sticker in the rear window has been arrested for a felony.

The truck found itself at the center of a free speech debate after Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls posted a picture of the vehicle online asking for information about the truck’s owner. Nehls said on Wednesday that several complaints about the sticker prompted him to act, and he suggested that charges could be brought for inciting violence.

However, that’s not what the truck’s owner, Karen Fonseca, was arrested for. Instead, according to FOX32, she was brought in on an outstanding warrant for felony fraud.

The woman, at the center of a free speech debate, who drove a truck with a window decal that uses foul language to insult President Donald Trump and his supporters, has been arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for fraud, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed to FOX 26 News.

Information was submitted to FBCSO that there was an outstanding warrant for Karen Fonseca and deputies with the warrant division arrested her on Thursday. The warrant was issued by the Rosenberg Police Department.

Fonseca was booked into the Fort Bend County Jail with no additional details about the warrant were released. She later posted bond and was released on Thursday night.

According to KHOU-TV, Nehls removed the post upon learning that Fonseca was arrested on Thursday.

“Due to the hate messages he has been receiving toward his wife and children, the sheriff will not be commenting on the matter further,” a department spokeswoman said in an email.

Fonseca, 46, defended her right to display the vulgar sticker in public.

“It’s not to cause hate or animosity,” she told the Houston Chronicle. “It’s just our freedom of speech and we’re exercising it.”

She also said that the sticker has been on the vehicle for over a year, but only recently started causing controversy. However, she maintains that despite the complaints, she’s still going to keep it on her truck.

“There’s no law against freedom of speech, nothing in the law book here in Texas.” she said. “I’ve been stopped numerous times, but they can’t write me a ticket.”

For his part, Sheriff Nehls said he’s an ardent supporter of free speech, but he felt that Fonseca’s sticker went too far because it could incite others to violence. But despite his objections to the profane display, law experts don’t believe he’d be able to legally do anything about it.

“It’s state action to threaten as (Nehls) did, and he really ought to know First Amendment law better than that,” Lynne Rambo, a law professor at Texas A&M University specializing in First Amendment issues, said Thursday.

Fonseca doesn’t have to worry about any charges related to the sticker, as it’s being reported the District Attorney has no intentions of charging her for it. However, a felony fraud charge is nothing to sneeze at, so she may want to get herself a good lawyer.
