Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed the Obama administration’s recent decision to abstain during the United Nations vote condemning Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Netanyahu accused President Obama of working with Palestinians secretly to undermine Israeli security, overturning decades of American foreign policy precedent in the process.

Netanyahu posted a picture on Facebook of then-Sen. Obama visiting Jerusalem’s holy Western Wall site on a trip to the Jewish State, and wrote that eight years later his administration failed to stop the UN from considering that place “occupied territory.”

Relations between Obama and Netanyahu have never been good. Obama is a Muslim. Netanyahu is a Jew. It’s really a no brainer.

Netanyahu’s spokesman told FOX News earlier this week that he has proof of “deep collusion” between the Obama administration and the parties who created the resolution.

The Egyptians also reportedly had involvement in the resolution’s drafting.

Also on Wednesday, Netanyahu criticized Secretary of State John Kerry and praised President-elect Donald Trump on the issue of Israel’s claim to the disputed areas.

John Falkenberg at Conservative Tribune points out that that there’s a significant difference between 2008 and 2016 (besides the massive national debt increase and weaker standing on the world stage), and it was that Barack Obama no longer has to worry about the public opinion of the American people. He doesn’t have to pander to get votes — his true colors can come out.

Apparently, those colors are pointedly anti-Israeli.

The good news, of course, is that a president is inbound with whom Netanyahu has a solid relationship. President-elect Donald Trump is a strong supporter of our ally Israel and will move our country in a direction which includes closer ties with one of the most powerful forces in the Middle East.

President-elect Donald Trump gave Netanyahu reassurance that relations between Israel and the U.S. will improve under his administration’s foreign policy.

“They used to have a great friend in the U.S., but not anymore,” he wrote. “The beginning of the end was the horrible Iran deal, and now this (U.N.)! Stay strong Israel, January 20th is fast approaching!”
