Two people were killed after a small airplane crashed in Arizona’s Gila Bend Mountains on Tuesday, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office announced.
The plane took off from Buckeye Airport and never returned, the sheriff’s office told Fox 10.
The wreckage was found about 17 miles southwest of Buckeye and it’s believed none of the people on board survived the crash.
According to MCSO, the plane’s two passengers died in the crash. Their identities have not been released.
An MCSO helicopter conducted a search and discovered the wreckage just before 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Gila Bend Mountains about 17 miles southwest of Buckeye.
The FAA and NTSB are investigating the cause of the crash.
