CHENNAI, INDIA —  Terrorists attacked a police station hurling bombs which prompted authorities to go on high alert.

The incident occurred at 4am on Thursday when there were no policemen outside the Teynempet police station. The gang, which is believed to have rolled up on motorcycles, threw several gas bombs which exploded and caused major damage.

Several police vehicles exploded and went up in flames.

Counter terrorism experts are on the scene and a massive manhunt is underway for the perps.

No Jihadist terrorist organization has claimed responsibility so far but authorities suspect that loyalists to ISIS are responsible for the attack.

Fortunately no one was injured in the attack.

But there was substantial damage to property.

Following damage to the vehicles on police station premises, a criminal case under Section 436 of the Indian Penal Code for causing mischief by fire or explosive substances with intent to destroy house has been registered, police said. Efforts are on to apprehend the culprits, police added.

The world is under attack by Islamist fanatics and they must be eradicated ASAP.

God Bless.
