WATCH As Romney Gets Booed, Called ‘Traitor’ And ‘Communist’ At GOP Conference- It’s Time For This LOSER To Resign

(USA Features) Utah RINO Sen. Mitt Romney was loudly booed and called a “traitor” at a Utah GOP conference by delegates on Saturday over his opposition to former President Donald Trump and votes to impeach him in January.

The jeering can be heard in video footage posted to YouTube when Romney is introduced and takes the dais to speak.

Romney is known as one of the former president’s most prominent critics, voting to impeach Trump twice. He was the only Republican to do so in early 2020 when Trump was impeached for an alleged impropriety with Ukraine’s president, and again in January 2021 following the Capitol riot.

More than 2,100 Republicans attended the conference, the Salt Lake City Tribune reported.

“Aren’t you embarrassed” by the Biden administration, Romney said as he took to the dais in an attempt to deflect the boos.

“I’m a man who says what he means, and you know I was not a fan of our last president’s character issues,” Romney said as hundreds of delegates attempted to shout him down, the paper reported, with many yelling “traitor” or “communist.”

The loud, enduring shouts of disapproval only ended after outgoing party chair Derek Brown criticized delegates for failing to show Romney respect.

“You can boo all you like,” said Romney. “I’ve been a Republican all of my life. My dad was the governor of Michigan and I was the Republican nominee for president in 2012.”

The Utah Republican and former Massachusetts governor only narrowly escaped being censured by the delegates in a vote of 798 to 711, the Associated Press reported.

But overall, his popularity in a party still heavily influenced by Trump has taken a major hit in recent months. An Ipsos/Axios survey released Jan. 13 found that just 34 percent of Republicans support him.
