SCANDAL! CNN RESTARTS ARGUMENT OVER AUTISM AND VACCINES!

Whistleblower

For years, there has been a raging argument between people as to what causes autism. The Center for Disease Control, as found out by CNN, covered up one reason. The cause is the Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccine. The hardest hit are African Americans, with an increased risk of 340%. The CDC knew about this as early as 2003. All this time, people have been slamming those who linked vaccinations and autism as conspiracy theorists. CNN has a whistleblower that proves the connection.

The iCNN findings

Here, via the CNN iReport, is what CNN found.

CDC Whistleblower William Thomas has released a formal statement confirming the original study found a link between MMR and Autism, especially in African American and that the CDC hid the results.

A top researcher at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Dr William Thompson, admits he played a key role in helping uncover data manipulation by the CDC. This fraud obscured a higher incidence of autism in African-American boys due to the MMR vaccine. The whistleblower, Dr. William Thompson, came forward after a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for original data on an autism study was filed and these highly sensitive documents were received with the assistance of U.S. Representative Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The CDC documents and discussions with the whistleblower reveal widespread manipulation of scientific data and top-down pressure on CDC scientists to suppress a causal link between the MMR vaccine and later autism diagnosis, particularly in a subset of African-American males who received their immunization “on-time” in accordance with the recommended CDC schedule.

Another instance of government cover up, which further shows the need to shrink out the bureaucrats quickly. Cronyism and bureaucracy is what rules this nation and kids are the victims.

The response from the “science” community

The “science” community is quickly moving to discredit the articles about this. One such, via Science Blogs, has no science, but plenty of personal attacks.

For those who might be entering this saga right now, I’m referring to a claim, being flogged to death right now by the antivaccine movement, that there is a CDC whistleblower who has made “devastating” reports that the CDC hid data that showed a 3.4-fold increased risk of autism in African American males, based on a “reanalysis” of a 10 year old CDC study that found no evidence that children with autism were no more likely to have received their first MMR vaccine earlier than neurotypical controls. Although the status of the “whistleblower,” senior CDC scientist William Thompson, PhD, is unknown because we have no one’s word for what it is other than Brian Hooker and Andrew Wakefield, we do know that Brian Hooker’s “reanalysis,” which is at the heart of this conspiracy theory, is a fetid pile of dingo’s kidneys, from a statistical and epidemiological standpoint.

While there may need to be further research into this, there are two things to be remembered. One: the “science” community will fight it. Two: the government will fight it. So, this will be dragged out for years.

Further controversy on the autism debate

iCNN is from other sources than the vetted and hired CNN reporters. The main CNN site did an article and this is, via the article, is an interesting part of that article about the study.

The CDC study authors found no link between the age children were given their first MMR vaccination and autism diagnoses. Nor did they find a statistically significant increased risk for a particular racial group.

The CDC’s raw data was made available for other scientists to use when its study was published in 2004. Hooker said he began his research after he was contacted by one of the original study authors, William Thompson, in November 2013. Thompson is a senior scientist with the CDC, where he has worked since 1998.

Hooker said he believes the increased risk for African-American boys he found was not identified in the CDC study because the researchers, including Thompson, deliberately limited the number of participants they included in their analysis, which he said altered the results. Hooker said that by excluding children without birth certificates, the CDC study results were skewed.

“I regret that my co-authors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article,” Thompson said in a statement sent to CNN by his lawyer. “I have had many discussions with Dr. Brian Hooker over the last 10 months regarding studies the CDC has carried out regarding vaccines and neurodevelopmental outcomes, including autism spectrum disorders. I share his belief that CDC decision-making and analyses should be transparent.”

However, Thompson went on to say that Hooker had recorded these conversations without his consent, and had posted them online without his knowledge.

It is interesting that respected scientists post articles on this and they are jumped all over. Decide for yourself what you believe on this issue.
