MSNBC host Joe Scarborough is no fan of President Trump, but on Thursday’s edition of “Morning Joe” he took things entirely too far, seemingly in response to President Trump calling him out over the “suspicious” death of an intern years ago.

The feud between the President and “Morning Joe” hosts Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski dates back to the 2016 election, and it’s been a very public one, with the hosts often trading jabs with Trump. But on Wednesday, the clash between them reached all new highs when President Trump said someone needs to investigate Scarborough over the death of one of his interns in Florida years ago.

“So now that Matt Lauer is gone when will the Fake News practitioners at NBC be terminating the contract of Phil Griffin? And will they terminate low ratings Joe Scarborough based on the “unsolved mystery” that took place in Florida years ago? Investigate!”

That’s a pretty bold tweet from the President, and it definitely caught the attention of Scarborough, who this morning had a total meltdown on his show.

Transcript via Breitbart News:

SCARBOROUGH: The problem, Mika, is that we are not fine in this country. I said America will be strong. We will survive this. But right now, at this particular moment — and we will get to this in a moment with Richard Haas — we are headed towards a nuclear showdown, most insiders say, Richard has said it matches everything we’ve heard from inside the administration, we are closer to war on the Korean peninsula that most Americans know, we heard this months ago, that we are going to have a ground war in Korea, they believe that inside the White House for a very long time. And yet, he is completely detached from reality. We had a New York Times and Washington Post piece saying so a couple of days ago, and the question is Mika, if this is not what the 25th amendment was drafted for, I would like the cabinet members serving America, not the president, not serving the president —

SCARBOROUGH: You serve America and you know it. You know you don’t serve Donald J. Trump, scam developer, scam you know Trump University proprietor. Reality TV show host, you don’t represent him. You represent 320 million people whose lives are literally in your hands and we are facing a showdown with a nuclear power and you have you somebody inside the White House that the New York Daily News says is mentally unfit, that people close to him say is mentally unfit, that people close to him during the campaign told me had early stages of dementia. Now, listen, you can get mad at me if you want to —

BRZEZINSKI: You can say that’s not OK to say, but —

SCARBOROUGH: It is ok to say. When are we supposed to say this? After the first nuclear missile goes? Is that when it’s proper to bring this up in polite society? Tell me General Mattis, when is it polite to bring this up in polite society? Rex Tillerson, when is this the right time to talk about a mentally unstable president in the White House and a nuclear showdown with another unstable mad man in North Korea? Is it after the first nuclear missiles fly? When exactly is the right time, Steve Mnuchin?

Yikes. It would appear as if ‘Lil Joe is quite uncomfortable over being called out.

What’s he hiding?

More on the Intern from the IBTimes:

The mystery Trump is referring to is the death of one of Scarborough’s district office workers. In July 2001, 28-year-old Lori Klausutis, who had worked for Scarborough for about two years, was found dead at Scarborough’s office in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

A Florida medical examiner ruled the death an accident. The examiner, Dr. Michael Berkland, said that Klausutis had an undiagnosed heart condition that caused her to faint and fall. Her official cause of death was a blood clot that resulted from head trauma she appeared to have sustained in the fall. The examiner said “she hit a desk with the side of her head” when she fell.
