BREAKING: Mass Shooting At San Bernandino California Elementary School, Multiple DEAD- Here’s What We Know

In a developing story, there has been a shooting at an elementary school in San Bernardino, California leaving multiple people down.  Many are injured and the death toll is currently unknown.  The school went on lockdown at 10:30 a.m. PST.

Officials are describing the situation as a possible murder-suicide.

There are currently conflicting reports as to whether the shooter is still active or has been contained.

At least four victims have been located currently after a shooter walked on to the North Park Elementary School campus in San Bernardino and opened fire.  The elementary school is located at 5378 N. H St.

The shooter was also possibly down, according to a tweet from San Bernardino Police Department Chief Jarrod Burguan, stating information was preliminary as more was known and became available.

All students at the elementary school are currently being transported to Cajon High School for safety reasons.

Burguan did confirm via tweet that the shooting was a suspected murder-suicide. Two students were transported to a local hospital after the incident, which took place in a classroom, he said.

San Bernardino County Fire Department confirmed there were multiple victims at approximately 10:45 a.m., but has not provided a full count yet at this time.

Students from nearby Cal State University San Bernardino were asked to shelter in place until further notice amid the report of an active shooter at the elementary school.  The university is located just a few blocks from the elementary school campus.

 

According to what has been released from the local ABC affiliate

Four people, including two students and one teacher, were injured at the campus, according to Maria Garcia of the San Bernardino PD. The gunman was reported to be “down,” and the threat has been contained, Garcia added.

Hillside Elementary School and Cajon High School were on a precautionary lockdown as emergency crews responded to aid the victims.

Students at North Park Elementary were being escorted to Cajon High School for safety and pick-up from parents.
