A 52-year-old man wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying two ‘throwing knives’ was arrested last night trying to get into Trump Tower.

Police say Adames Benitez, of The Bronx, was stopped near the entrance of the Manhattan building when he asked to see the president’s daughter, Ivanka. In addition to having the a bulletproof vest and knives, Benitez had a fake ID and a sock with heavy a metal object inside in his possession, officials say.

Benitez claimed he was a U.S. senator, and said he wanted to speak with Trump about her clothing line, police said. He also said he was the owner of Trump Tower, which is on Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th streets in midtown.

Officers described him as an emotionally disturbed person.

Benitez was taken into custody by the NYPD and Secret Service agents and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and criminal possession of weapons. He was then taken to New York Hospital for a psychiatric examination.

Ivanka Trump was not in the building at the time. She is traveling with the president on his trip to Germany.

This isn’t the first time there’s been an incident at Trump Tower.

For example, back in December, a man named Alexander Wang was arrested after entering Trump’s heavily guarded high-rise.

Wang was stopped by Secret Service at a checkpoint inside the building and when they searched the backpack they found a large hunting knife in the pouch, an M100 firecracker, handcuffs, a switchblade, a flashlight, an 8-foot-long black rope and a garrote which is a weapon used to strangle a person.

God Bless.
