South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham seems to think there’s something more to the special prosecutor being appointed by the Justice Department than the alleged Trump-Russia ties.

During an appearance on Fox News Thursday, the career politician urged Congress to completely abandon the Russian investigation and instead turn their sights on Hillary Clinton’s shady activities while Secretary of State.

According to Graham, emails exist that show the Hillary campaign worked with the Justice Department to obstruct justice during her investigation, and he suggested that perhaps those are why a special prosecutor was appointed to look into everything related to the last election.

Check it out, via the Gateway Pundit:

Lindsey Graham: “I don’t know what caused the appointment. I haven’t seen any evidence of a crime yet. The bottom line is I respect the decision, but this pretty much shuts Congress down. Democrats, you got what you wanted. You got a special counsel. Now we’ll just move on. We’re not prosecutors.”

Interesting, to say the least, considering that as Graham said, there’s no evidence of any crimes being committed by anyone associated with President Trump. What makes it even more interesting is the broad scope that the special counsel was given when opening its investigation, which begs the question of whether or not the focus will shift to Clinton rather than Trump.

Boy, won’t that be nice?
