Dean James AMERICA’S FREEDOM FIGHTERS –

New reports have surfaced that Attorney General Jeff Sessions and President Trump are not seeing eye to eye. In fact, word has it that Sessions has actually offered to resign. Seriously, I’m not sure what to think about this new revelation.

ABC News reports  that the friction between the two men stems from the attorney general’s abrupt decision in March to recuse himself from anything related to the Russia investigation — a decision the president only learned about minutes before Sessions announced it publicly. Multiple sources say the recusal is one of the top disappointments of his presidency so far and one the president has remained fixated on.

Trump’s anger over the recusal has not diminished with time. Two sources close to the president say he has lashed out repeatedly at the attorney general in private meetings, blaming the recusal for the expansion of the Russia investigation, now overseen by Special Counsel and former FBI Director Robert Mueller.

Our good friends at The Federalist Papers reports that the White House won’t confirm this, of course, but the news comes shortly after Trump publicly complained about his own DOJ’s handling of the case, a New York Times report detailing his alleged dissatisfaction with Sessions, and Press Secretary Sean Spicer dodging a question about whether the president still has confidence in his AG.

On the one hand, it’s stunning to hear about bad blood between Trump and one of his earliest, most committed supporters. But on the other…Sessions has been a surprising letdown. Recusing himself was a mistake that seems to have only intensified a fake scandal instead of nipping it in the bud, and a lot of us are baffled that the administration hasn’t been more aggressive in saving Trump’s essential travel ban.

To be honest, while I personally always liked Jeff Sessions for his expertise on immigration, he always seemed like a strange fit for the Justice Department, with a soft-spoken demeanor that just never seemed like the kind of guy with a fire to put people in jail after the Obama administration’s eight years of lawbreaking.

Again, when you look at Sessions you don’t see a big powerful man who is ready to kick ass but so far he has been pretty aggressive when it comes to the illegal alien problem and the Mexican gangs that are ruining our cities.

So, we’ll see what happens.
