Authorities in Southern California were searching for a Mexican man and woman who stole a woman’s SUV on Saturday and then went on a shooting rampage, killing one and injuring several others. Good news- they have been ARRESTED!

Fox News reports that police in Southern California have arrested a man and a woman in connection with a shooting at a hotel that may be connected to a series of attacks in the Los Angeles suburbs Saturday that killed one man and injured three other people.

The deceased man has been identified as Jose Sahagun, 44, of Norwalk.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Ryan Rouzan told reporters that the shootings don’t “appear they were target-specific or gang related.”

Lt. Rodney Moore of the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau agreed that it appeared Sahagun and the other victims were targeted at random.“This crime was unprovoked, and the victim of the homicide appeared to be a completely innocent person,” he said. “Seems to be a senseless act of violence, and there is no reason for this act of violence to have occurred that we can find at this time.”

The rampage began at around 2:15 p.m. when one person forced a woman from her Nissan Pathfinder in Pico Rivera, a community southeast of downtown Los Angeles, Fox News reports.

The two suspects then fired at three or more people in neighboring communities.

It’s unclear what the shooting victims were doing when they were shot, something Rouzan said would be revealed in the ongoing investigation.

Investigators later recovered the unoccupied SUV at a park in Whittier. The woman’s condition was unknown, but Rouzan said she had not been shot.

The condition of the other victims was not immediately available. It is also unclear how many victims were shot.

Here’s the video report from KTLA 5 in Los Angeles.

Fox 11 reported that the man and woman were arrested at a hotel in Whittier approximately two hours later.  Sgt. Mike Ellis of the Whittier Police Department told the Los Angeles Times the suspects were found with a gun in a different stolen vehicle. Ellis added that at least one of the suspects had gunshot wounds, which he said were not inflicted by law enforcement.

The suspects were arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto. The investigation is ongoing.

God Bless.
