Skittles, known for the tagline “Taste the rainbow,” have changed their packaging and and candies to white with black writing to celebrate Pride month and in honor of the LGBT community.

Stores are displaying the brand’s message- “During Pride, only one rainbow matters. So, we’ve given up ours to show our support.”

Wrigley, the chewing gum company said that since both the LGBT community and Skittles share the rainbow as a symbol, “Skittles has again given up its rainbow colors in order for Pride’s rainbow to take center stage.”

“This campaign allows us to have great fun with our brand while also raising awareness of an important issue.”

Sales of the all-white Skittles packages also benefit pro-LGBT charities.

Here’s this genius who doesn’t understand that the candies, without any color are white. But she wants black ones and is ready to burn down cities and riot if she doesn’t get her way:

What a useless idiot.

But some people understood the gesture and shared they loved the plain bag and candies, finding it a positive public relations move on behalf of equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

“People are hating on the LGBT pride skittles because they r white but i love them so much! what a strong statement to make about equality!”

Loving that @Tesco are selling these awesome @Skittles There is always in our house! ?️‍?

As for the Skittles brand, well, this isn’t the first time the fruit-flavored rainbow candy has faced down a political scandal. Last year, Donald Trump, Jr., used a theoretical poisoned bowl of Skittles to illustrate a problem with the Syrian refugee crisis, and Trayvon Martin was carrying a pack of Skittles when he was shot, sparking a national conversation about race and self-defense.
