On Friday, the Mayor of San Juan was seen on television berating President Trump over his relief efforts in Puerto Rico, but as it turns out, she only has her own people to blame.

We previously reported that Caren Yuliz Cruz had praised FEMA earlier in the week for their contributions in helping Puerto Rico recover from two devastating hurricanes. However, she completely changed her tune a short time later, and standing in front of pallets of supplies, she criticized the President for not doing enough for the island.

“We are dying & you are killing us with the inefficiency” San Juan Mayor to Trump & Admin

Of course, President Trump didn’t take the criticism lying down, and he lashed out at the Democrat Mayor over her unfair criticisms of his efforts.

Now, we’re getting reports of something extremely sinister occurring in Puerto Rico – the Teamsters Union is standing in the way of the relief efforts. Currently the port in San Juan is flooded with thousands of shipping containers full of aid and supplies, but there’s nobody there to deliver the goods.

In fact, less than 20 percent of the island’s truck drivers have shown up to help their fellow Puerto Ricans.

Why? The union is refusing to work while trying to extort the government for more money.

The Last Refuge reported that Colonel Michael A. Valle (”Torch”), Commander, 101st Air and Space Operations Group, and Director of the Joint Air Component Coordination Element, 1st Air Force, responsible for Hurricane Maria relief efforts, had the following to say about the dire situation on the island:

…They have the generators, water, food, medicine, and fuel on the ground, yet the supplies are not moving across the island as quickly as they’re needed.

“It’s a lack of drivers for the transport trucks, the 18 wheelers. Supplies we have. Trucks we have. There are ships full of supplies, backed up in the ports, waiting to have a vehicle to unload into. However, only 20% of the truck drivers show up to work. These are private citizens in Puerto Rico, paid by companies that are contracted by the government”.. (link)

But it gets worse. Now, there’s reports from the Gateway Pundit that the union is essentially striking and refusing to follow FEMA’s rules during the recovery.

Then, there’s this. A Puerto Rican police officer is claiming that Mayor Cruz is forbidding people from distributing the supplies.

BOMBSHELL: Alleged Puerto Rican Cop Calls Radio Station, Claims Democrat Mayor Is Sabotaging Relief Efforts To Make Trump Look Bad & Secure Votes With The Help Of The MSM

To be clear; the Teamsters, who strongly back the Democrats and make the majority of their political donations to the Democrat Party, are refusing to work in Puerto Rico despite the fact the island is devastated and in dire need of help. Meanwhile, the Democrat Mayor of San Juan is in the Democrat-allied media criticizing President Trump because the relief and aid isn’t being distributed to the people who desperately need it in Puerto Rico, all while she’s allegedly blocking relief efforts on her own.

So basically, it appears as if the Democrats are so determined to make this President Trump’s “Katrina” moment that they’re leveraging their power with the Teamsters Union to halt progress so the Democrat Mayor can get on TV and blast the President over a failed recovery effort, or at least that’s what it would seem from the outside observer. Otherwise, why wouldn’t the union truck drivers be out there helping their own communities, unless they were being directed from a higher power to sit this one out?

To quote Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel’s now-infamous phrase – “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”
