VOICE BULLYING2

By Blaze and Spitfire AMERICAS FREEDOM FIGHTERS! –

There is a serious problem that effects thousands every day. It causes depression and and it results in suicide. Bullying has to be stopped and the ones that do this need to be held accountable. It causes mental scars that last a lifetime.

My 16 year old son has lost one of his friends due to bullying. She committed suicide and left a note. What the note says is disturbing. You think when you send your child to school, the teachers are there is help and protect our children. One of the bullies that tormented this child was one of her teachers.

This is what her note said:

“I’m not going to be here to tell my friends I love them. Tell Jacob and Ben I’ll miss them and tell him it was more than a crush. I no longer going to be here, I’m going to drink simple green and bleach. I’ll be waiting for you now grandma, I’ll miss you. The reason I’m going to kill myself is because of my teacher Mrs. Leslie for making fun of me and for using me as a bad examples and my mom. My mom is very mean. So I will never see them again and I hope my friends will be happier without me =) and I will give you a sample of my blood for my loved ones. And here is the simple green that I will use to die with. Sorry I wasn’t good enough to live in this world. And Penny, Zach, Grandma, Dad – I love all of you and if you would pass this message around and let people with depression to tell them to stay strong.”

Bullyingstatistics.org lists some staggering stats on bullying:

Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year, according to the CDC. For every suicide among young people, there are at least 100 suicide attempts. Over 14 percent of high school students have considered suicide, and almost 7 percent have attempted it.

-Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University

-A study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying

-10 to 14 year old girls may be at even higher risk for suicide, according to the study above

-According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying

-Bully-related suicide can be connected to any type of bullying, including physical bullying, emotional bullying, cyberbullying, and sexting, or circulating suggestive or nude photos or messages about a person.

Some schools or regions have more serious problems with bullying and suicide related to bullying. This may be due to an excessive problem with bullying at the school. It could also be related to the tendency of students who are exposed to suicide to consider suicide themselves.

If we pay attention and recognize the signs and reach out to help, maybe we could save the lives of numerous children. There needs to be stiffer penalties in place for the ones that bully. I’m proud to say my son is becoming a advocate for eliminating bullying. If only more would stand up for the ones that can’t, we could eventually eliminate it all together.
