ST. LOUIS – One man has died and another remains hospitalized after an argument ended in gunfire Sunday night at an event at Ballpark Village, across from Busch Stadium, according to police reports.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that both victims were men in their 30s, and police said they may have been bystanders not involved in the argument. One was shot in the head and taken to a hospital, where police on Monday morning say he had died. The other man was hit in the thigh. Police did not release that man’s medical condition at a hospital.

Social media posts showed patrons enjoying drinks on the rooftop, overlooking the field at Busch.

Just after midnight, the Cardinals issued a statement:

“We are shocked and saddened by the senseless shooting at a private event at Ballpark Village Sunday night. There is nothing more important to us than the safety of our guests. We are praying for the victims and their families and we are working in every way possible to help the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department with their investigation, including their effort to apprehend the individual responsible. We are grateful that our security staff and the St. Louis Police Officers on site were able to respond quickly to help care for the victims. We are urging anyone with information about what took place to contact the St. Louis Police Department or Crime Stoppers.”

Maj. Mary Warnecke, from the St. Louis police, said several hundred were at the rooftop event.

“We have lots of security at venues like this, but if someone pulls out their weapon…it’s very difficult to prevent.”

Why can’t these fools just eat, drink and chill?

Unbelievable.

God Bless
