This State Just Made SICK Move Against President Trump… One Problem Makes Them Look Like MORONS

Chicago continues to defy President Trump with regard to illegal immigration.  Their latest attempts to thwart federal immigration law now center on Chicago public schools.  As of Tuesday morning, principals have stated they will refuse entry to any immigration officer into any Chicago public school without a warrant, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The official statement reads –

To be very clear, CPS does not provide assistance to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the enforcement of federal civil immigration law.

In the third largest school system in the nation where nearly half of the 381,000 students are Hispanic, the Chicago Tribune claims that concerns have arisen about the possibility of authorities detaining parents outside schools and their children inside. If the students and their families are here in America legally, it seems ludicrous that concerns would have arisen at all.

The Trump administration and its crackdown on illegal immigration are focusing on illegal immigrants who have committed a crime or have criminal charges pending or those that are abusing public benefits. In their efforts to address this issue, Homeland Security has made the announcement that the agency has plans to hire thousands of immigration officials and border patrol officers.

Chicago Public Schools district spokesman said that currently, they are NOT AWARE of any efforts from ICE officials to enter school buildings. Yet the school system feels it needs to entire the fray in a most confrontational way, telling the Trump administration that they will defy federal immigration laws. Seems like creating a controversy where there is none just a bit now doesn’t it?

The Trump administration and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have shown little interest in showing up at schools at this point and it is unknown if that will change, but it is highly unlikely according to ICE officials. There currently is little the schools can do to stop any agent that does show up with active warrants.

Current Trump administration policies limit enforcement actions at what are deemed “sensitive locations,” and this includes schools.  Given this policy, it is beyond belief that the Chicago school system would issue such a statement with regard to their refusal to cooperate with ICE.

Chicago is leading the charge among other school systems following in their wake – once again stirring up controversy where none previously existed.

Syracuse, New York had their school board approve a similar policy as Chicago public schools.  Schools in Salt Lake City, Utah met yesterday to discuss a resolution. Connecticut’s governor issued statements that school districts in his state are to refer any ICE agents to the superintendent. New York City schools under the direction of Mayor Bill de Blasio have been told that immigration officers many not be granted access without legal authority.

The Executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, D.C., Mark Krikorian, states schools have no reason for alarm and Chicago Public Schools and others implementing similar policies are simply posturing and showing off.

God Bless.
