Hawaiian teacher: “If they are here in the U.S. illegally, I won’t teach them.”
A teacher in Ewa Beach, Hawaii is now facing disciplinary action after he told faculty members that he refused to teach students who were in the United States illegally.
Whom do you consider to be the most corrupt Democrat Politician?
John Sullivan is a social studies teacher at Campbell High School. According to a local ABC affiliate, Sullivan made the comment in response to an internal school email thread titled, “Students are being kept home from school due to deportation fears.” Sullivan responded to another email sent by a school counselor about nationwide statistics on students who are being kept home from school due to deportation fears.

Sullivan wrote in his response –
“This is another attack on the President over deportation. Their parents need to apply for immigration like everyone else. If they are here in the US illegally, I won’t teach them.”
Jon Henry Lee, the school principal, claims that Sullivan violated school rules in that “teachers should not be using the school’s email to voice political opinions. Sullivan will teach any student who is enrolled at Campbell High School.”
Sullivan is calling the situation a grave “misunderstanding.”
The Department of Education is stating that this is not a 1st amendment issue regarding free speech, but instead an issue of the improper use of email and school resources. Corey Rosenlee, president of the Hawaii State Teachers Association stated, “HSTA strongly believes that every child has the right to an education, regardless of their immigration status.”
The Department of Education says the email violates the following policies and code of conduct –

- BOE Policy (anti-discrimination): <http://bit.ly/2mHBkzK>

Disciplinary action is ongoing and Principal Lee stated, “I just reminded him again that we don’t discriminate against any individuals. We’re going to service all students that are registered in our school.” It is at the school principal’s discretion on any disciplinary action that Sullivan may face.
If you would like to show your support of Mr. Sullivan’s stance on illegal immigration, the phone number to contact Campbell High School is (808) 689-1200 or you may write them at 91-980 N Rd, Ewa Beach, HI 96706 to show your support.
God Bless.
