The Small Business Administration has come out against the Waters of the US Rule that the Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers want. The impact of this ruling will cause everyone that owns land to have to allow the government to dictate everything on their own property. That will destroy several sectors of the American economy from the fees and having to deal with the pseudo-science of the EPA.

What the SBA says

Here, via the SBA website, is what they say about the rule to have the federal government take control of all water in the US.

Concerns raised by small businesses as well as the agencies’ own economic analysis both indicate that small businesses will see a cost increase as a result of the revised definition. The EPA and the Corps have obligations under OMB guidance, and the RFA to measure and communicate this increase. Their certification of no small business impact is inappropriate in light of this information. Because of this probable small business impact, the RFA requires the agencies to complete an IRFA and a SBAR panel.

Conclusion

Advocacy and small businesses are extremely concerned about the rule as proposed. The rule will have a direct and potentially costly impact on small businesses. The limited economic analysis which the agencies submitted with the rule provides ample evidence of a potentially significant economic impact. Advocacy advises the agencies to withdraw the rule and conduct a SBAR panel prior to promulgating any further rule on this issue.

Response from Senator Hoeven

Senator John Hoeven (R-ND) is one of the people in the Senate trying to stop the Waters of the US Rule. Here, via a press release, is what he says about the SBA response.

“The SBA’s Office of Advocacy recommendation underscores the need to rescind the Waters of the U.S. rule, not just for its impact on farmers, ranchers and others industries, but also on small businesses, which are the lifeblood of the American economy,” Hoeven said. “The rule will not only violate private property rights, but also hurt our broader economy.”

This rule is not from real science, it is an attempt to control even more. The EPA is one of the most potent tools of the liberals and their quest to for power.
