WATCH: Super Bowl LV Kicks Off with ‘Black National Anthem’- Look At What The Players Did During ‘The National Anthem’

Do you remember the good old days when sporting events were fun and were an escape from the normal grind of everyday life like working 5-6 days a week to make a living? The smell of hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts and the thrill of watching our great athletes compete on the field- nothing was greater.

But it seems that those days are gone.

Since Obama entered office the country began to be divided.

Decades of racial healing were essentially erased.

And now the country is divided even more.

Watching sports for entertainment for pleasure is a thing of the past.

Now it’s all about politics and racism.

Did you see what was written on the backs of the players helmets?

Some of the names were people that were hardcore criminals for God’s sake!

Anyways, Warner Todd Huston at Breitbart has more:

Super Bowl 55 kicked off Sunday with recording artist Alicia Keys singing the so-called black national anthem, “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing,” along with a poem.

Hitmaker Alicia Keys was tasked with a virtual performance of the 121-year-old spiritual song that has come to be known alternately as the “black national anthem” after being introduced in 1899 for Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. The poem read in 1899 was set to music in 1900.

The song and the poem were meant to be uniting but is being abused today to divide the relationship between Blacks and Whites in my opinion.

Look, Black Lives Matter does not pay their salaries, they do not pay the NFL and they certainly do not represent all Americans.

They say they want equality and justice for all yet they are segregating themselves and bringing more division into an already divided nation.

Now I wonder what the fall-out would be should players decide to take a knee, turn their backs or stay in the locker rooms during the Black Lives Matter anthem?  Imagine how fast whomever did that would be labeled and probably ran out of the NFL.

Keys sang the song to kick off the season, as well.

Both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs took the field during Keys’ performance on the jumbotron, but the teams returned to the locker room immediately afterward.

The league chose the “black national anthem” for both Opening Day for the 2020 season and the Super Bowl as part of a national reckoning over race in the wake of the death of George Floyd, who died in the custody of the Minneapolis police.

Everyone has the right to their beliefs and their opinions, everyone is supposed to have the right to peacefully protest.

But when millionaires, who gained their riches not just because of their talent but because of a national sport that consists of all people of all colors and nationalities, when they decide to spit in the faces of the people and our nation, they shouldn’t be collecting more paychecks.

The NFL has aided in dividing our nation and the people all because they allowed players to break their own policies.  Now by allowing a Black lives Matter anthem, they now will have too allow every race and religion to have their own anthem to be performed.  Will they?  Highly doubt it, but that is the Pandora’s box they opened and the fan’s hopefully will simply start to walk away.

The Atlantic Black Star reported that many casual NFL fans were surprised to hear Grammy winner Alicia Keys singing the Black national anthem before the Super Bowl LV game.

“Lift Every Voice and Sing” has long been a staple at Black gatherings such as church events and social empowerment meetings. In fact, the lyrics, written by novelist and NAACP leader James Weldon Johnson, comprise the official song for the civil rights organization.

But Sunday’s previously recorded performance by Keys elicited mixed emotions from viewers. Some were overjoyed that the anthem that means so much to them has found a place in national professional sports. Others were incensed, calling it another example of divisiveness among the races. Some said they had no problem with the song but didn’t feel a sporting event was the appropriate venue.

We have to stop demanding we be recognized by the color of our skin and start demanding that people remember humanity.

This nation has far bigger issues than the race bait being force fed down our throats.  People need to be united as one and have a single voice, if they ever truly want equality and justice for all.

*We will note that when singers Jazmine Sullivan and Eric Church sang the national anthem, both teams remained standing. which frankly was unexpected.

Again, let’s keep racism and politics out of the game and just PLAY BALL!

*On a side note, congratulations TOM BRADY! 😁
