Senator Tim Scott has some words for an Internet blogger who recently called him an “African-American prop” of President Donald Trump due to his appearance at a tax reform speech given at the White House.

Scott was standing next to the president and Rep. Diane Black in the very front row of lawmakers who had assembled at the White House to celebrate the tax bill’s passing.

That’s when blogger Andy Ostroy gave in to the urge to vacate his verbal diarrhea all over the Internet by creating a post mocking Scott, something that would get a conservative pundit smacked with a racist label so fast their head would spin.

Fox News is reporting:

“What a shocker. There’s ONE black person there and sure enough they have him standing right next to the mic like a manipulated prop,” Andy Ostroy wrote.

“Way to go Senator Tim Scott,” Ostroy, whose Twitter profile identifies him as a Huffington Post contributor, continued.

Scott responded on Twitter, ripping Ostroy’s remarks:

“Probably because I helped write the bill for the past year, have multiple provisions included, got multiple Senators on board over the last week and have worked on tax reform my entire time in Congress,” he wrote.

“But if you’d rather just see my skin color, pls (sic) feel free,” Scott said.

Having been caught exposing his true, racist “white privilege” — sorry, couldn’t resist throwing that nugget out there — Ostroy quickly deleted his post and issued the following apology:

“@SenatorTimScott, earlier I tweeted something that I now agree was unfair. Senator, I regret that tweet & apologize for it. There were many other ways I should’ve and could’ve made my point.”

Yeah, first off, too little too late. Ostroy made an obviously racist remark about Scott, the first black senator to be elected in the South since Reconstruction, and for that, he should be held to the same standards that members of the GOP would be held to if they made similar comments.

Ostroy should not be getting a free pass simply because he’s a liberal Democrat. That’s hypocrisy at it’s finest.

The Fox News report goes on to note that Scott was raised in North Charleston in a working-class neighborhood steeped in poverty and that he praised the tax bill as a blessing for communities struggling to get by.

“This is not about Washington. It’s not about the left [and] it’s not about the right,” he said Wednesday afternoon. “It’s about single-parent moms who are looking for a reason to be hopeful in 2018.”

At the end of the day, it’s legitimate racism for someone like Scott to take the kind of verbal abuse he did from Ostroy, someone who claims to be all about standing up for tolerance and inclusivity, all the while his speech betrays his real beliefs. To Ostroy, it’s absurdity that a black man could be a conservative and have earned a legitimate place next to the President.

How that isn’t racism defies logic and reason, but then again, the left has never been known to possess those kind of qualities, so there’s that.
