CACHE COUNTY, Utah — A woman was killed and her two daughters were injured after a 15-year-old driver veered out of his lane and crashed into the family’s vehicle, officials said.
The 15-year-old boy, who had a learner’s permit, was driving near Smithfield when he veered out of his lane and into oncoming traffic about 3:40 p.m., FOX13 reported. The woman’s vehicle, a Pontiac Grand Am slammed into the teenager’s Ford Fusion, absolutely demolishing both vehicles.

The young boy in the Ford Fusion was taken to Cache Valley Hospital and was then airlifted to Primary Children’s Hospital with head injuries.

There are no details on what caused the 15-year-old boy to veer into oncoming traffic.
Utah Highway Patrol says the 15-year-old boy had a learner’s permit, but said state law requires that teens driving on a learner’s permit be accompanied by an adult. The teen was the sole occupant in his vehicle.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved in this tragic accident. So sad…
God Bless.
