Pope Francis weighed in on Saturday as to the role he felt that Christians should be playing in shaping the future of Europe and promoting political dialogue. He addressed European political and church leaders with his message during a time of political crisis across Europe due to a massive influx of unvetted refugees from the Middle East and massive terror attacks across the region.

This marks the fifth such speech the Pope has made on Europe and was made to a forum on Europe organized by the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Community.  The foreign policy speech was entitled – “To be the Soul of Europe.”

Pope Francis directly stated he felt that politics is becoming instead a forum for clashes between opposing forces. The voice of dialogue is replaced by shouted claims and demands.”  He feels that politics should instead be a means to promote dialogue rather than friction.  In his opinion, Christians should be playing a role in shaping the future of Europe by promoting political dialogue “especially where it is threatened and where conflict seems to prevail” rather than contributing to the chaos and struggle that is currently prevalent.

According to Fox News, Pope Francis stated

“Extremist and populist groups are finding fertile ground in many countries; they make protest the heart of their political message, without offering the alternative of a constructive political project. Sadly, we see how frequently issues get reduced to discussions about numbers. There are no citizens, only votes. There are no migrants, only quotas. There are no workers, only economic markers. There are no poor, only thresholds of poverty.”

He calls for Europe to welcome and help integrate migrants, strive for solidarity especially among the younger generations, and help create economic opportunities. He emphasized the young are particularly vulnerable as many of them are “lost without roots or prospects.” The Pope also called for Europe to promote an “inclusive community.”

Pope Francis made his speech just one day after the regional parliament in Catalonia made their unilateral declaration of independence from Spain, and as Britain negotiates its exit from the European Union after four decades.

He never stopped to address nations such as Sweden, Germany, France, England and others across Europe have been promoting inclusiveness. There is a REASON there is such a backlash against inclusivity with Brexit and now Catalonia declaring their own independence. Their women and children are paying the price as rape and assaults are on the rise and terror attacks are now prevalent all over Europe as a result of the attempts to create such an “inclusive community.” Perhaps because the Catholic church has its own skeletons with regard to sexual assault and rape?

The Pope for all intents and purposes is promoting a globalist mindset, a one world government ideology if you will. One where the “common good” is the objective and the individual matters not. That my friends is Communism and not in any way Biblical.  The Bible is emphatic in its teachings that the individual is paramount in God’s Kingdom – that as an individual you will be called to account for your actions and that as an individual you matter, that your life is sacred.

While promoting dialogue is indeed necessary, constructive answers must also be apart of that conversation. There are some things we simply cannot “include” in our communities if we are to survive and thrive.
