Sometimes you see things online that just make you shake your head and go “what were these people thinking?” This tends to happen quite often thanks to social media and the plethora of individuals around the world who enjoy sharing the bizarre crap that happens when the human race gets bored out of their skulls.

Here’s a perfect example. We all know that the media these days isn’t exactly in the good graces of “we the people,” due largely to the fact that most major news outlets have taken journalistic integrity, wiped their asses with it, and sent it swirly down the toilet.

The mainstream media hasn’t been interested in facts for a long, long time, opting instead to push a political agenda, usually liberal in nature, instead of providing information for viewers and readers to make up their own minds about.

This and the blatant, unfounded attacks on President Trump from the left-wing propaganda pushers has put a real bad taste in people’s mouths. So bad, in fact, that some have responded by creating a t-shirt that has a threatening message for journalists on it.

So where does Walmart fit in all of this? They were the ones who sold the t-shirt! Notice the use of past tense? Yeah, they decided to pull the shirt from their marketplace after receiving complaints.

The shirt said: “Rope. Tree. Journalist. SOME ASSEMBLY REQURIED.” Yikes. Sure, most modern day journalists are obnoxious left-wing hacks, but to encourage lynching seems a bit extreme. Kind of a strange item to find at Walmart.

Here’s a look at the shirt:

More From Fox News:

“This item was sold by a third-party seller on our marketplace and clearly violates our policy,” Walmart said. “We removed it as soon as it was brought to our attention, and are conducting a thorough review of the seller’s assortment.”

Teespring confirmed the shirt has been pulled, and said it was working on measures to prevent sales of other offensive T-shirts.

“As soon as we were alerted to this content promoting violence against journalists we removed the content, added this content to our automated scanning systems, and kicked off a human sweep of the site to find and remove any similar content,” the company said.

It wasn’t the first time a shirt with controversial content has slipped through the cracks at Teespring. In August, the company vowed to increase oversight of its product line after complaints prompted the ending of “rainbow swastika” T-shirt sales.

Walmart, along with the Radio Television Digital News Association verified the shirt’s removal five hours after the very first complaint was filed.

Dan Shelley the executive director of the group had this to say:

“We are grateful for Walmart’s swift action, but dismayed that it, and anyone else selling the shirt, would offer such an offensive and inflammatory product.”

Is such a shirt really that inflammatory? Eh, it’s certainly in poor taste and most average folk probably wouldn’t wear it, but it’s just a t-shirt.

If a slogan on a t-shirt is enough to get someone to commit an act of violence against someone in a specific profession, this country is truly in awful shape.

That being said, it’s a bit out there in its message and not likely to be something most would support wearing. It’s a clear expression of the frustration our current culture has with the media, though, and if they really care about keeping their careers going, perhaps they ought to start reporting facts again?

Just some food for thought.
