Now the 2nd Amendment is racist?

Any other time in our nation this type of rhetoric would have been laughed away and the people saying it would have been shut down and faded away into obscurity.

Fast-forward to 2021 under the dictatorship of the left extremists who use “racism” to push their radical agendas.  There is literally nothing that these imbeciles will not throw racism into just so that they can get their way.

Breitbart reports that ABC legal analyst Sunny Hostin said Friday on ABC’s “The View” she believed that the Second Amendment “was designed to protect slavery” by empowering local militia groups to “put down slave revolts.”

Before we get into the ridiculous comments by Sunny Hostin, we need to do a quick and EASY history lesson for those that seem to have literally no knowledge of the 2nd Amendment.

From Britannica website:

Second Amendment, amendment to the Constitution of the United States, adopted in 1791 as part of the Bill of Rights, that provided a constitutional check on congressional power under Article I Section 8 to organize, arm, and discipline the federal militia. The Second Amendment reads, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Referred to in modern times as an individual’s right to carry and use arms for self-defense, the Second Amendment was envisioned by the framers of the Constitution, according to College of William and Mary law professor and future U.S. District Court judge St. George Tucker in 1803 in his great work Blackstone’s Commentaries: With Notes of Reference to the Constitution and Laws of the Federal Government of the United States and of the Commonwealth of Virginia, as the “true palladium of liberty.” In addition to checking federal power, the Second Amendment also provided state governments with what Luther Martin (1744/48–1826) described as the “last coup de grace” that would enable the states “to thwart and oppose the general government.” Last, it enshrined the ancient Florentine and Roman constitutional principle of civil and military virtue by making every citizen a soldier and every soldier a citizen.

Now from History:

Many people in America at the time believed governments used soldiers to oppress the people, and thought the federal government should only be allowed to raise armies (with full-time, paid soldiers) when facing foreign adversaries. For all other purposes, they believed, it should turn to part-time militias, or ordinary civilians using their own weapons.

However, opponents of a strong central government (known as Anti-Federalists) argued that this federal army deprived states of their ability to defend themselves against oppression. They feared that Congress might abuse its constitutional power of “organizing, arming and disciplining the Militia” by failing to keep militiamen equipped with adequate arms.

So, shortly after the U.S. Constitution was officially ratified, James Madison proposed the Second Amendment as a way to empower these state militias. While the Second Amendment did not answer the broader Anti-Federalist concern that the federal government had too much power, it did establish the principle (held by both Federalists and their opponents) that the government did not have the authority to disarm citizens.

The 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with protecting Americans to ensure that slavery continued.  One of the dumbest not just comments but thoughts that the left extremists are now pushing!

Breitbart continued with Sunny Hostin and her pathetic attempt to use racism to push the propaganda to destroy the 2nd Amendment:

Hostin said, “If you look at the history of the NRA for decades, the NRA has pushed legislation that not only supported a lot of gun ownership and the proliferation of guns but stifled the study and spread of information right, about the causes of gun violence. And when we talk about the culture of guns in this country, I’m reading an incredible book called ‘The Second’ by professor Carol Anderson. And she describes that the constitutional — the Second Amendment really was the right to bear arms was designed to protect slavery, right, because they wanted — our Founding Fathers and others, they wanted to be able to empower a local militia group to basically put down slave revolts and protect plantation owners.”

She added, “Because of the origins of the Second Amendment many and because of the NRA, I think we’re seeing this proliferation of guns and gun ownership. But I will say that gun ownership is on the rise, of course, in this country, but the biggest gun ownership on the rise is among African-Americans. It’s up 58.2 percent. In large part, when they are questioned, they’re talking about white supremacy, they’re talking about the pandemic, and they’re talking about police violence. They want to be able to protect themselves. So this is not about a rise in crime in the streets. This is about people feeling unsafe, black Americans.”

Hostins interpretations of whatever books she is reading clearly shows that she is CHOOSING to read only the material that supports her radical beliefs and has NOTHING to do with facts.

The worst part is these radical left extremists actually believe this garbage and are spreading their hate and extremism through the mainstream media.

Proof that being a dumbass is contagious especially when it is being used to promote and indoctrinate those who seemingly cannot think for themselves.
